    Hard top with Roadster windshield

    Hey all,

I just realized that since I am in Texas, I will require windshield wipers and since we stick our registration stickers on the windshield it will throw a wrench in my plans to swap between a roadster and hardtop on the 33.

I have seen some posts in the past regarding a custom hard top that a third party was selling that fit over the roadster windshield, but cant find those posts to save my life. Anyone here have a link or know what vendor I am talking about?

    Thanks for the help

You can by all means seek a custom hard top solution if you want, but the specific issues that you said you were concerned about can be solved by other means:
    1) Wipers. Yes, you need wipers for inspection. But assuming you're going for the Custom Vehicle and Street Rod registration type (and there really is no reason to do anything different) then you need to have the car inspected one time, and never again. So you can build it with the roadster windshield and wipers, have it inspected, then take off the wipers and set them aside. You can then change windshields at will.
    2) Registration sticker. Get this product; I have it because I didn't want to stick a sticker on my lexan windshield. It works great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Ram, thanks for the suggestion. You are right, I am going to use the Custom Vehicle/Street Rod registration route, so that sounds like a good option and your sticker ideal will be a lot cheaper than a custom hard top. Guess I jumped the gun a bit. Where in Houston are you located? I am down in the heights area and trying to get the hot rod to go kart stage before the end of the year.

Drew, must say your blog is great, way to go installing the lift before getting the kit! And it sounds like you have brothers and fathers and assorted male relatives to help you with the build, which I'm sure will make it go faster!

I am in the Sienna Plantation area in the far SW corner - Missouri City area. Never did a build thread but did graduate my build over on the other forum: http://www.ffcars.com/forums/17-fact...1006720rd.html

Dont know much about the 33 per se but happy to answer general FFR questions, Texas registration questions, etc.

    Good luck with the build!

    Ram,

Thanks for the info, your car looks great, I especially like the wood dash, nice touch! You might hear from me as I get closer to registration and what not, appreciate the help.

    Drew
