Finished up my quarter windows this morning.... it was about 70 degrees out so I decided to see how well they worked at speed.... could I heat and cool the car and regulate the inside temperature of the car in this weather.... short answer is YES... I think this will work fine and the car isn't any louder inside with all the windows in... I guess the added sound proofing worked... I let the GoPro run the whole run...about a 40 minute run around town...cut it down to about 9 minutes... you can see the how well the shifter works and how EASY the car is to drive... for the amount of power it has you would never know it by the manners it shows... well except one spot toward the end .. just tried to push past 1/2 throttle in 3rd.. nope... too cool out... anyway.. the car seems to be all figured out and fun to drive... the side windows were a welcome addition to the car. Spring is here folks!!!

Took the Coupe to the local TVR/TAC SCCA event today... funny the place kinda shutdown when I drove in... like SEMA all over again... ..1000 questions....

Anyway... Checked tire pressures, fluids and once over... walked the track.. then we were off...

The first pass ever , the car was pretty loose... I had to go to 400# springs in the rear earlier this year due the amount of squat I get under power when the car hooks... I set the sway bar to full soft and thought that it would be good... nope... Just disconnected one end and boy did that make a difference... holy cow does this thing ride... with the bar I was at 75 secs... without the bar after only 4 runs ever in the car I was done to 68 secs... and getting faster... I quit for the day cause I learned what I wanted to learn on how to drive the car near or at its limits (at times)... and my back started to hurt... so ... good first venture.. need to give it a good inspection now that I beat the crap out of it.

here are some pics.. my GoPro failed me .. sorry ..

in addition to this I got my side windows in.... FOr you all thinking about getting them.... make sure you put the window in BEFORE you mount the door release!!!

the down side of being the Beta guy - the upside is I got to use my new welder !!!

    after the fix was executed

Ok boy. I hope I don't have that problem. If so I get to think up something creative. I also want to copy your side windows if I can. Do you have afew more pics of it? I'm sure a lot will become clear when i get the windows in.

    Thanks!

Got a few requests on this now.. so I did a video of the window and quarter windows... was out in the rain today and they work very well... I have to finish putting the seals around the rest of the door... but the windows work very well- they even hold in the AC and Heat!

Fantastic build Erik. A favor, if you would please:

I don't really care for the look of the FFR Coupe windows, and I'm looking for ways roll-up windows might be integrated into the into the Coupe door. I don't yet have a car on order, but I'd like to start kicking this around on paper. An end-on photo of the door (in the open position) and window assembly would help. Even better would be a yard stick or some other straight-edge laid up against the top (inside) edge of the window and the bottom (inside) edge of the door, showing the in-plane relationship of those two edges, and how they relate to the top (inside) edge of the door "lip" would be fantastic.

Thanks much for your time and consideration

    Matt

There is somebody on this forum that is doing roll up windows... the door sill is too far into the car for rollup windows as it sits.... you would basically make your own metal door frame and the graft the door skin on to it. A ton of work.... but it is possible see below

Thanks Erik. I had come across Jonas' build a while ago. A fantastic piece of engineering, but a lot of work, as you mentioned. Trying to determine if there is another viable path. My apologies for the thread jack...

Check the drag strip off the list

Got up today knowing it was gonna be nice and they just opened the track a few weeks ago for the season... so threw my helmet in the car and went to work....worked all day and left at 515pm for the track... turned on the AC, go to the track, paid "the man", got out and took all the secondary missiles out of the car, did a quick inspection (still in my nice work clothes.. did take the tie off). Everybody was like... who the hell is this guy...lol...they called lanes OPEN... got in , turned the AC off... did my burn out... ripped through the traps at 100MPH and 7.56 without really even trying... had to shift 3 times... I think there is too much gear in the car... but the prepped track allowed all the power to be used!!! I was nervous cause I was waiting for the tires to let loose...and they never did... I think for sure I could have been more aggressive for sure...next time... as it was, grabbed my time slip, grabbed all my stuff, turned on the AC some tunes and drove home... never once touched or prepped the car!! "Not too Shabby"!! The tune is perfect and doesn't miss a beat... thanks to Wayne... Thanks to FFR... they built a Swiss Army Knife... Just about to break 1000 miles... drive it work, drive to the autox, drive it to the drag strip...meh.... sure all in a days work...

here some pics a short video... I need to find a better place for the camera... it is picking up too much vibration out of the frame... you can see the button down work shirt... was gonna leave the tie on and flip it over the shoulder a la snoopy style... lol

And today.... this happened on the way to work....

    1000 miles...

Closer to 1100 miles now after driving around and back home from work....

    Nothing major to report overall:

    Changes made thus far:

    1. oil sump pump added for turbos
    2. oil pressure regulator added for turbos
    3. Serviced AC
    4. Added Side windows
    5. Adjusted Brake switch
    6. Increased rear spring rate by 50# and added 1.5 inch rear wheel spacers
    7. Disconnected rear sway bar
    8. Replacing stock pads with Yellow Stuff pads (tomorrow)
    9. Adjusted idle tune
    10. Re-threaded shifter handle
    11. Added Bluetoothe speaker
    12. Added 1 inch cushion to driver's seat so I can see over the dash/nose

Honestly... that's it... Fuel and smiles after that...

It's just a 15 inch roll bar mirror... I got from summit...good visibility... a little hard to get use to since it's a curved mirror... but it sure gets around the blind spots.

Thanks Erik, didn’t want to run the factory rear view mirror and driving the car around now with only side mirrors visibility isn’t the best haha. Thanks for the info.

Oh right... I even changed my pass mirror to a convex mirror as well! Having that one and the rear view that way makes all the difference for me... the drivers side is a normal mirror and works well
