So started out planning on taking a full day off from work....well that didn't work... sooo

Took the nose off, and reorganized the boxes in a better order and so I could free up some space to get the welder out to start the turbo mock up.

so only about 2.5 hours on the car so far... both front corners are in and greased, still have to paint the calipers (tomorrow) . Have run out to get some POR15 in the morning and some other supplies.... but I expect to have some more stuff done....so far no snags at all... the rack would have gone in but it won't be here until some time in Jan....I will probably throw the front sway bar on tomorrow.

    anyway...you know the rules...

Another day.. still haven't gotten into the grove yet...I am supposed to be on vaca but work keeps gets getting in the way... anyway... got the IRS chuck painted the color of the car then cleared and installed....oh my.... that was a big PIA. Painted all the front brakes, they are drying now...I will probably put those on here after dinner....StopTech pads for the front come with the kit... nice! Also torqued and cotter pinned the ball joints.... Engine hopefully in tomorrow and will start with the rear suspension.... I did put the rear shocks together today as well... so that will be waiting on me. Nice to get more boxes out of the garage!

Eric you may want to paint the driveshaft adapter as well as the drive shaft. On my 427 customer car both turned to rust in 2 weeks.

Owlknight360, the upper ball joints are made by Supreme MevOtech part number MK772.

Chief, car is coming along great. I have front suspension done and now working on the Wilwood brakes. Rear end this weekend. Thanks for the heads up on how to install it. Jim at FFR did say it's a PIA.

    Nice Work!

ok... finally got a little over 6 hour on the car today... got a lot done... finished the front suspension (minus rack which is B/O), put the motor in for turbo mock up and mounted the driver side turbo. All in all not a bad day... a lot of learning on how to get the motor in... I had to take the alt, a/c and oil cooler out... the stock AC unit does not play well with the shorty header... will have to figure something out with the AC compressor. Also, if you are using a donor engine... PULL all the header stud out BEFORE you put the motor in the car....that was not fun. The pass side is fine... the driver side they all had to be removed.

Anyway... moving to the back of the car tomorrow... then pass turbo... then I should be able to take the motor back out and start rocking on the aluminum...

    enjoy....

    turbo mounted:

    mustang tranny fits pretty good:

Light day on the car today... no pics...

Gas Tank is in... fuel pressure lines run to the regulator and to the engine.... had the garage door open today and I think the neighborhood came by to see what I was working on now....lol.... Still have to mock up the pass side turbo and work out the exhaust side exit and make a tranny mount before I can pull the motor back out and start rocking the aluminum...and of course I ran out of TIG gas... so that is first on the list...rrrrr never fails...

Overall... pretty pleased with the design of the car and the packaging...as with the 818 beta, small things here and there... but that's why it's a beta! This is the first time I have done a car this way..leaving the body on.. I can't say I like it very much but it is doable and it forces me to install things in a way I can get to it later.... which isn't a bad thing....

The tranny out of the mustang is going to be a trick to use... the shifter totally won't work. it is way too far back. I think I may have a way to make some linkage to get it to work out nice... but that just means more fabrication.... but that's fine...my shifter isn't exactly stock either.

In any event... progress is being made.

    stay tuned!

Great progress, and I have enjoyed seeing what the new Coupe is like. Looks like I need to start working on getting my wife's approval for my next build!

I look forward to seeing what you all get done during your mini build party next weekend. Thanks for including us in the ride!

Finishing up the fab portion of the build.... the turbo's twin is up and mounted... looks good... a little tighter than I wanted.... but for now ok.

still have to finish putting gussets on my tranny mount... that's tomorrow...

then I have to work on my shifter linkage... another full day of fab work more than likely. ... will finish up the rear suspension as well...

Well quickly finishing up the drivetrain mock up... rear brakes will go on tomorrow and then off with the body until the pipes show up....also custom pieces (of course)....anyway... got a lot done with the MT 82 tranny.... ended up gutting the shifter and building my own assembly and then welded the "cup" to the end of the transmission interface... this allowed me to keep the tranny completely stock and unmolested. Then I had to shorten the heck out of the shifter and reconfigure it to accommodate my shifter head and a good seated position... I think it came out pretty good and it shifts pretty darn nice! I still have to clean up the hardware and all,,then the shifter boot...but it will look nice in the end I think.,... I still have to figure out the reverse lock out.. but that is for another day!

Also finished the tranny mount...lots of in and out of the car and cutting and grinding...just kinda designing on the fly with metal and a welder...made a mess of the garage!

    anyway.,..

Got a lot done today.... the suspension is all in and the brakes as well...if had tires it would be a roller... got most of the aluminum marked and have started pulling panels to drill... also recycled the 2015 mustang master so it will mate right up to the stock tranny....it came out pretty slick.... Course the body is now off so I can really get after it... some more pics

    Erik,
Will the valve covers come off in the chassis? Looks about 30" across those parallel braces. Nice packaging on those turbos. Where do you tie in the APU bleed air?. Looks awesome.

A little more unpacking today...was going to get the e brake done but got a little side tracked...anyway... drilled a most of the right foot box aluminum and firewall so I can drop those at the coater..mounted the ECU so it peeks out of the firewall and mounted the ECU power distribution panel, hooked up the DBW throttle and routed and mounted the that harness... I then removed the aluminum, but mounted everything back and took pics so you can see where everything goes without the aluminum in the way.... also changed out the oil tank... so yes you can drop the pan in the car. If you are going to use the MT82 tranny the bellhousing has 2 bolts with harness studs that need to be removed in order for the pan to go on. The oil pickup tube height was spot on out of the box.

    anyway...pics

will add some cushion to help with any vibration

Been super busy at work...work 6 12's last week so only got a little done. Got the motor pulled back out since all the major fab work is done on the turbos... finished up the driver's foot box... will finish the pass side engine compartment side this week and get the brake lines run then poke the motor in for good this weekend.... I am using a new product for me for the foot boxes.... with the cobra being open top, I never worry about foot box heat... this time since the coyote motor is so wide, and the turbo headers do get very warm, I added some heat blanket to the outside inside panels... I will go back on the inside of the foot box and add some additional protection... but this should work. Looks pretty slick. I still have to go back and touch every rivet with some touch up paint (details)....unfortunately, after the motor goes in, you probably won't see about an inch of my hard work....meh... at least we know it was done....lol...

    Erik,

Does any part of the driveline hang below the lowest part of frame or is it all tucked up tight?

The oil pan to me looks like it is JUST under as well as the MT82 cooling fins.... I should have the foot boxes done and the engine back in this weekend and I will take some detail pictures... nothing stuck out at me as strange... I also have the engine at the bottom of the adjustment.... so you could raise it is suppose

I just was wondering where it sat because I didn't look at that when we came down to Panama City.

Got a few hours to work on the car today...been totally slammed at work.

Anyway.... Brakes are all done, just need bled. Electrical for Chassis and engine all run. All aluminum now pulled and drilled... will go to coaters on Monday. Motor will go back in for good tomorrow more than likely.

Extra length left in the car for now until I get battery and such
