No but that looks interesting to watch! I recognize these car parts. loll

Haven't Snap-On failed on building an R a long time ago and FFR needed to sell it?

The guys at Snap-On had originally wanted to build an R model but their legal team decided no race cars for liability reasons so they built the 818C instead. Never got any further than the discussion stage though.

Thanks for the precision Jim! I obviously had some of it wrong about the R, I really thought they did start it and left it incomplete. Good to see they made it with the C!

I'd love to see the ecoboost 818C driving! Has it yet? What were the results? I'm surprised at the silence without some sort of explanation, especially after all the discussion surrounding the potential with this powerplant!

Yeah, I watched them all hoping for some FF 818 goodness. Instead, I got a bunch of advertisements for Snap-on tools I either can't afford or don't want, and never got to see a running car. The Grassroots Motorsports was more helpful to me.

Snap-On.....Factory Five.....if you are listening.......RUN THE ECOBOOST! POST A YOUTUBE VIDEO! MAKE IT WORK! WE WANT TO SEE/HEAR IT! And smell and taste it, but you cant get everything you hope for! Can you at least say why you arent playing with it? Maybe they dont want to damage pretty paint job? I think we would all be more impressed with a slightly damaged but awesome running show car?

Retro - I watched it last night and I had the same thought. I saw the car up close when I was at FFR picking up my kit; had no idea it went together that quickly. I must be doing something wrong....

. It would go together like that if you had a team of experienced guys spending a month pre fitting everything first. But what's the fun in that.

Is the ecoboost engine exceptionally short in length (from crank pulley to trans mounting face) or another way of putting it is it shorter than say a Nissan SR20 or Mitsi 4G63 or Honda K series or other japanese inline 4s? And how much did it move the trans back?

The mustang 2.3l ecoboost is available as a crate engine (link below). A controls pack is also available for the engine. The 2.0 ecoboost transverse mounted engine has been available for quite some time, but this is the first I have seen the mustang 2.3l ecoboost inline crate engine available.

Right? You can get a crate LS engine for that, making over 500HP.

I still have not heard of this car driving or, better yet, racing. Very curious how new package impacted handling.....I think we know acceleration is pretty good. I guess it is a hangar queen for Snap-On....oh well.

Could it be possible that they are going to Huntington Beach?

$7,795 seems like a fair price to me. Heck I've spent more than that rebuilding a Subaru engine. And the Ecoboost is all new parts and comes with a warranty.

The $7795 is just the Ford MSRP. The $5512 in the link below is competitive.

5.5k new not bad means getting a used cheap motor will be little more easy in the future! Idk how much more reliable ecoboost will be though compared to an EJ be interesting to find out in the future!

Yeah but how much you think it's gonna cost to fit it in the 818?
