    28/31 Spline

    I am using a 4.6 3V engine with the T-45 5 speed transmission. It calls for a drive shaft with a 31 spline. I am using a 98 Mustang gt 8.8 rear end which has 28 spline axles. Are these two independent of each other. I am very new to all of this so please excuse me if this is a stupid question. Since I have seen others use this combination I am assuming it works.

    I just bought my kit yesterday and I am pumped. I have been researching for 3-4 months and I have found the answers to thousands of questions but I have millions more to discover.

    The splines on the driveshaft go into the transmission. The axle splines go into the diff carrier. So, one has nothing to do with the other.
