Looking for a good place to find gauges.

I'm looking for options for vintage style gauges. So far I have come up with a few options but wanted to know you guys opinions.

Factory gives vintage gauges with GPS speedo.. I believe they are 899
********** has vintage non gps gauges for 680 plus another 80 for the oil temp
Jegs sells autometer I can put a set together for around 750

What other options would I have?? I'm going with the dash that comes in the complete kit FYI

    Thanks

If you buy the complete kit then you get the standard Auto Meter Ultra-Lite gauges as part of the deal, plus a ton of other Gotta-Have-Items. That's what I've done and though I've got a lot of custom changes to my car, starting with the complete kit has been a big plus.

383 Small Block Chevy 9.7-1 Pump Gas Friendly Compression Ratio!
Schoenfeld IMCA Modified Headers & They Really, Really Fit, But Stuff Had To Move A Bit!
New Old Stock Corvette ZF 6-Speed Transmission With Hydraulic Clutch. (.75 5th & .50 6th Gear Over Drives)
Standard Front End Set Up With Mustang Brakes & Forte’s .75” Sway Bar.
Standard 3 Link Moser TSD 500 Rear With 3.73 Gears & Explorer Brakes.
Powered foot box ventilation with a custom heater on the passenger side.
200 Watt Infinity Marine Stereo with 4 Polk Coaxial Speakers.
I covered the stock dash with Marine Grade Vinyl along with other panels.
Removable Dash, Trans Tunnel Top, Slave Cylinder Cover, Master Cylinder Cover, Etc.
Re-routed fuse block and wiring harness (Passenger Side)

The Best thing about building one of these things is you create your dream car and everybody on the forum are all very much like you. They love the satisfaction of the build and have great pride in the final outcome.

Factory Five's vintage gauges are made by SpeedHut (www.speedhut.com). They have holiday sales that a normally pretty good and you can do a lot of custom stuff with gauges that will fit the dash as intended. You can silk screen custom logos, GPS, integrated left/right/brights indicators, built in tach shift light, etc, etc, etc... They are actually having a sale right now...

I removed the gauges from my complete kit. I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go and used the opportunity to get the 4 into 4 headers. The idea was to look at all of my gauge options just as I am now. I saw speed hit had a sale for cyber Monday but I haven't been able pin down the gauges I want.

Checkout speed hut if you want to customize. I figured that out after I purchased the gauges from FFR. I am actually going to send all mine in to them to reface. Cost is pretty reasonable but had I just ordered from them initially I would have saved a couple hundred. I called and the FFR gauges that come from the kit are from the Legacy line on their website.

Original 427 gauges (3000 series cars) were Smith gauges and can still be found at several places like Nisonger

You can get them as mechanical or electronic gauges.

Yeah.... if you want vintage, it's gotta be Smiths from Nisonger - here are mine.

    George/Chris,

Nisonger does not have pricing on their website and says you have to call for pricing. Can you guys give a ball park number on what that Smith Gauge set costs?

I always have intention of calling places like that during the week, but either forget or do not have time with work.

    Thanks.
    Juan

    Juan,

I found them very competitively priced... so much so that I bought a second set for my current '65 Mustang vintage race car project. If I remember correctly, Nisonger typically sells them at a pretty good discount depending on the gauges you select.
