    Turbo Intake Help

Soobie Noobie - What can I eliminate on the turbo intake here? I already need to get MAF and air cleaner pipe, they were damaged in the donor crash. I intend to run emissions but may eliminate them after inspection, not required for kit cars in my state. Thanks.

I just replaced the intake with an aftermarket intake (lots out there), and also bought a Cobb short intake. My MAF was missing as well.

I've been shopping the aftermarket intakes also but the one I have is in pretty good shape and it cleaned up nicely. So far I like the Cobb SF and cleaner, may go that route.

Plenty of info out there on how to design your own intake to conform to your specific requirements. I'm going to build mine, but only after I get to the point of finishing my engine bay. I want the intake to incorporate the air filter, utilising the two inlet ducts from the coupe roof as combustion air. Then to the turbo, in thru the intercooler, then to the manifold. I'm hoping to make it aesthetically pleasing, because the engine will be nearly hidden from view. Gotta do the exhaust system too, so fun fun fun!

Just remember that most aftermarket intakes flow less than OEM and will require a pricey tune. The further from OEM, the worse it will run.
