Hard top

OK for the ones that have driven with the hard top on, how much did the noise come in , and did it work like a drum? I am going to have the top on all the time ( looking at permanent on) and thinking i will put foam in top.
Two part foam put have read about problems, so help me out--yes or no and your experience.

I liked my hardtop. It was quiet and weather tight.
