Old vs new center console

I received my kit car end of 2014. I purchased the aluminum shifter. I decided to buy the carpet kit last year. Was I supposed to get a different center console aluminum pieces with the shifter? The carpet kit does not cover the entire console.

To my knowledge and I have built 3 818S's the carpet does not cover the console. It runs along both sides. I cover my consoles with black marine vinyl.

Got it, thanks! I will just cut up the little squares they gave me in the kit to make them work or vinyl is great idea. Are you going to send me a quote for the carpet mats?
