At recommended ride height (~4.5"), how much clearance under front bumper?

With the standard setup, is the front bumper /lip height about the same as the front ride height (measured from the front of the main rail) or does it sit higher or lower? I have flexibility in my front bumper height, what would you recommend?
    Thanks!

We line the hood up so that the bottom front edge of the hood (gen I) is at the same level as the bottom of the aluminum pan under the radiator. That pan is slightly higher than the bottom of the main chassis....not sure how much as I've never measured it. On Gen II we place the hood in the same position.....so if you spanned the "recess" in the front lip of the hood with a straight edge, that line would be level with the bottom of the alum under the radiator. The distance from there to the ground is also going to change if you have some rake built into your ride height....which we also normally do. We usually end up going with something between 4.5 and 4.625 for front ground clearance measured at the main tube behind the front wheels....and somewhere between 4.75" to 4.875" in the rear measured at the main tube in front of the rear wheels.

Thanks for the reply Shane! That helps. I don't live around speed bumps (can't remember last time I actually drove over one!) but am a little concerned about stuff like that...

I would have to measure to make sure, but I believe the nose is about .5" higher than the bottom of the car or the rocker panels of the body. This makes a huge difference as to how the hood fits on a "standard" GTM. I think I increased it a little more so that I have plenty of room for a stout splitter up front. I would recommend you do the same if you are considering using a front splitter.
