C-5 and C-6 Corvette Stability Concerns

    Ladies & Gentlemen,

    > If you have any friends with C-5 or C-6 Corvettes, then please share this information with them.
    > If you are attempting to slide or drift your C-5 or C-6 Corvette around you WILL be surprised when your car goes out of control.
    > The car literally grabs the brakes on an individual wheel or wheels in an attempt to straighten things out.
    > It is why my brother sold his C-5 that his wife gave him for his 50th birthday some time ago.

Umm all you have to do is disable traction control on the center console with one push of a button. Too bad he didnt know his vette well enough before he sold it.

The Traction Control, when turned off, does not disengage the Stability Control completely on a 2000 C-5.

Get the car turning right to go left or vice versa and things get ugly pretty quickly.

Thank God He Sold This P.O.C.

    I still have my 1995 C-4!

If you hold the traction control button down for 10 or so seconds, it will go into "competition mode". I want to say that completely disables everything.

    So you had a 2000 C-5?

My father has a 99. In fact, it just hit 35k yesterday. It has been his baby for 18 years.

I am going to respectfully disagree, this is me driving a buddies C6 at a drift event some years ago. With traction control off it was totally controllable in a slide (as best a near stock Corvette can get anyway).

I, for one, would really like to see this matter resolved on these pages. I mean, the integrity of the CAPITAL LETTER and use of BOLD PRINT is also very much at stake here.

I probably should have only put "Take Care & May God Bless America!" in bold!

    Amen Brother Barrel, Amen!
