    Valve stems for Halibrand wheels

Are the FFR Halibrand wheels supposed to come with valve stems? I just took my wheels and tires in to be mounted and the tire shop told me the Halibrand wheels needed a special valve stem. None of the stems they had would work and he didn't know where/what to order.

Mine did come with valve stems, which I did not use. I had some metal ones that fit that has a nut that tightens down with seal washers underneath. Take a good look in the boxes with the knockoff and lug covers, they were in one of those boxes.

I had the same issue. Valve stems were included with the previous vendor 17 inch wheels on #7750. But for the 18 inch wheels in the new kit, no valve stems. I called Factory Five and they said they were no longer included. Since then, I've heard from several that they did receive them. Others that didn't. So I guess I'm not sure, but bottom line I didn't get any.

When I took my shiny new BF Goodrich Rival S tires to get mounted and balanced, the tire store had an issue getting either standard or bolt-in stems to fit. I called Factory Five from the tire store, and fortunately Jay knew exactly what valve stem to use (standard TR413 rubber pull-through) and gave me instructions to pass to the installer. Success! He even offered to speak directly with the installed, but wasn't necessary. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what the instructions were (I've slept of few times since then...) but maybe knowing the right valve stem will get things moving. Otherwise, call Jay. Good luck.

I guess you are already set, but I did have a small issue with the FFR supplied valve stems. I ended up not using them and getting some from America's Tire when I had my tires mounted. Here's the thread. http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showt...nd-valve-stems

I forgot to take mine to the shop when I took my wheels in. They had ones that look exactly the same as the FFR ones. I would be a little afraid of a tire shop that told you that you needed special ones.

I have the 15" Halibrands. No stems with mine, but the shop seemed to have no problem. They did call and ask if I wanted the raised white letter facing in or out. This place usually deals with the ultra low profiles on the 20+" rims, so mine were a little off the beaten track for them. They got it done quickly though and the wheels/tires were all cleaned and wrapped up when I picked them up.
