    New Style Fender Vents

I was contacted by an individual asking for some custom fender vents for a C6 corvette. I designed a set and had them cut. Out of curiosity I set them on my 818 to see how they fit. The angle almost perfectly matches the angle between the hood and crease of the fender. I like how they reach the back of the fender and come flush with the leading edge of the center vents. If there's any interest in these I can work up some pricing.

those are pretty sweet, but seem like they might take over the front end style-wise. I'd be curious what a set would look like if the leading edge kept this same steep angle but the overall length was closer to the originals. In other words, effectively make it so the leading edge "points" to the outer front corner of the hood vents. Does that make sense?

They might work well as hood extractor vents on my STI. Can you send me a printable template so I can mock them up?
    Thanks.

Here is what I was trying to get at with my comment. (just to be clear, I really like the look of these, probably more than the originals even, I'm just brainstorming an in between result that looks like it was designed specifically for the angles of the car).

(grrrr... hold on, i'll get the picture in a moment - work computer struggles - nevermind, i'll send it to you on facebook - work server now appears to be blocking photo uploads to this site)

Bill, I think I get what you mean. If you take the trailing edge of the center hood cutout and continue it off the side of the car, that line forms the bottom line of the fender vent. I do like that these are curved fins and not square.

There's actually one thing about these vents that I don't like for this application. The fins on the center vent are convex front, concave rear. These are concave front, convex rear. The curves are flipped. I have a few other projects in line to finish before I can take tackle a smaller curved louver.
