289 Roadster #8955RD Came to life yesterday evening

Another one comes to life. Finally got to the point of first start, timing set, and first go kart ride, maybe 1/2 mile or so. Picked kit up from FF Sept 11th,16. A period correct drivetrain; 1965 289 HiPo, built up some of course, Comp cam roller lifter, roller rockers, original ported iron heads with sb chevy valves, Edelbrock FB4 intake, New Holley 670 carb, Lakewood bellhousing, T10 BW 4 speed. all seems to function well. Has a nice cammy idle at 950rpm, but not extreme. 94 T Bird IRS. It seems to squat when braking, suspect more front bias is in order, but may be too soon to know, pads aren't even making full contact yet. My wife asked if it was always going to be that loud. Umm, yes. Way too cool. Some Bourbon and a cigar were in order afterwards.

Congratulations Pete!! What a great milestone, and a great way to celebrate as well; can't go wrong with bourbon and a cigar!

I am sure others will chime in as well, but I would sure love to see some pictures!

    Congratulations again.

    Regards,

    Steve
