I am holding in my hand a stock fox body mustang brake push rod from my '91 footbox. From back of the rod to the master cylinder push end (small end) it is very close to 6". I am now using a Willwood master cylinder with an adjustable push rod. When adjusted it measures the same length, 6". Need your application to supply any additional info, like what peddle box you are using.

Lengths can vary from car to car, depending on how any master cylinder firewall spacers are used, what pedal is used, and what master cylinder is used. No set magic number.
