    What is your daily driver?

For a long time my fun car has also been my daily car. However, when I finish my build I don't need my daily to be my end all be all. That is NOT to say I want to drive a Prius. I am currently driving a Scion FR-S. It is fun when I get out of the city, but it really beats me up every day. Oddly enough I have been thinking about a Crown Vic (you can swap an old F100 onto a Vic chassis...) or some other nice big muscle car/muscle wagon type of thing. I would love to get more cool ideas!

So, what do y'all drive on the daily?

I did have a crown Vic - bought from the local police auction. It was an ex cop director car - beautiful condition and still going strong as my daughters car.

My wife's Dodge magnum wagon is fun and practical for loads.

My Tahoe great for towing and long road trips with family & bags.

Ultimately my 33 will be my daily though

The COBRA. The 435 is backup for bad weather. Insured with Infinity through a local broker. No driving limits agreed value policy.

No, not the GMC. My DD is the Dodge which ordinarilly would be dragging that trailer, not sitting on it. This photo is from a few years ago when my buddy towed it home for me after it "blowed up" (broke a valve spring then the real carnage ensued). Bought it new 180,000 miles ago. I run my daily driver workhorses for a long, looooong time.

Audi A4 - a perfectly adequate (intentionally loaded word chosen here), somewhat boring, near-luxury car that is also plenty quick.

"In line" for a Tesla Model 3.

Hey, I'm not defending it! When I sent my friend Troy to go fetch it I told him "I promised the guy I'd get it off his lot. Do that then bring my trailer back---at this point I don't really care whether the truck makes it or not"!

By the way; just for the record that Dodge has never been waylaid by a turkey

2004 CTS-V Gen 1 with stock LS-6 and six-speed manual, 80,000 miles. Probably going to follow your approach and replace it with more of a city car when my build is finished.

2013 Toyota Highlander. Laugh it up, but of all the cars I've owned this silly thing is probably my favorite DD. Normally I only keep a car for 3 years or less but I think this one will stick around a bit longer.

Occasionally I'll drive the wife's Lexus NX200t which is surprisingly fun to drive for a tall ugly car.

An old carbon LeMond road racing bike, an old Cannondale road racing bike, or a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder, depending on the weather, how much free time I have and what I need to accomplish on that particular day.

2014 Dodge Durango Citadel is our only DD. Has the V-6 and factory towing. Handles our SE and Roadster towing with ease and with reasonable economy. Rest of the time is a nice comfortable ride. The AWD and all the electronics make it rock solid for our sloppy Michigan winters. This is our second V-6 Durango. The 8-speed transmission new with the 2014 model was a huge upgrade for regular driving and especially for towing.

Back when I actually had to work for a living, my work car of choice was an Acura TL. Leased several. Fun car to drive with just the right amount of luxury plus sport, and rock solid reliable. Not long after I retired, we decided we didn't need the second DD, and so far has been the right choice.

2011 Jetta TDI that I'm probably going to sell back due to Diesel Gate. Ticks me off though. I get high 40's MPG on the open highway and have NEVER recorded a tank less than 38 MPG even in rush hour traffic. pull the DSG auto back into "sport" and the thing really gets of the line. 200 ft/lbs torque at 2000 rpm in a small light car. Problem is its paid for and I still love it... those 2 things make it hard for me to give it up.

and from my side work I have access to
2011 Chevy Silverado HD 2500 extended cab with a fisher XV2 snow plow. Every thing it does well the Jetta doesn't and Vise-a-Versa

hiding in my garage is a "barn find" 1986 IROC Z that I've owned since new. my kids and are are thinking about putting it back on the road

1997 Lexus LX 450 (Toyota Land Cruiser) AWD Goes almost anywhere yet has a good level of comfort. 5,000 lb towing capacity, can seat 7 with 3rd row installed. They really did make them to go through jungles! Dismal fuel mileage.

Back-up DD is a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette, Z51 convertible with manual transmission. Fantastic road tourer but can be autocrossed or raced.
Comfortable, 400 hp, almost 30 mpg when cruising and lower insurance than the Cruiser! Of course, I am on the north side of age 50.

I wonder where I got the idea that my FF roadster (planning stage) should have more than 400 hp?

I'm curious why you are going to sell it back if you love it so much? (Always thought I'd want one for many of the same reasons you cite.) Are you in a state that requires it to pass emissions for annual inspection?

I was like you. I drove cars that were sporty up until I had a little girl. Blew up the engine on a WRX, after a doctor's visit before she was born. So I went out and bought a Honda Civic. 138,000 miles later, still runs strong. I had the WRX for a long time in my garage and I never rebuilt it. I ended up selling it and then a year later about the MK4. but I miss a fun car to drive. I did have motorcycles but I ended up selling those also for lawyers. Child custody isn't cheap hahaha. But I have my little girl now.... So it is all worth it.

Ditto on the sell back? I'm keeping mine. My DD is a 2012 Jetta TDI. My third TDI. Bought used last summer from the local VW dealership. The lot was loaded with "dirty diesels" and this one only had 33,000kilometers and had been on the lot for 8 months. Got a smoking deal and the dealer was quite happy to unload it.

My brother felt the exact same way. But his wife is a lifetime professional environmentalist, so the TDI had to go. He just turned it in this week, got a great deal on it.

'06 Nissan Frontier but since I work from home, it now sits in the garage a lot. Great little truck, suck on gas though. Usually when I can I take my wife's Mini Clubman as it's fun to drive, great on gas and again just fun to drive.

2015 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Wife has a Subaru Forester for hauling the kids around. Its my 7th Jeep in 16 years, once you get addicted to these things its hard to buy anything else. These newer ones are way more comfortable than the older ones I used to buy. I've put 76k miles on it in 2 years... did I mention I LOVE to drive? Already on my second set of wheels and tires.
