    E-Brake anchor bolt too short

I built my E-Brake mechanism today and unless I'm not seeing something the anchor bolt is too short. Attached pictures show ratchet fully engaged in the teeth and at best I can only attach the button 2 turns.
Not enough to release the ratchet from the teeth. My only though is that the button should enter the handle however the button is much larger than the hole in the handle.
Anyone else run into this or have suggestions?

The button should enter the handle. Some thing is wrong if the button is not fitting. Do you have any calipers that you could measure both pieces? On the kit I just picked up, the button measures .520 and the handle measures .53

I had the same issue and when I called FFR, they told me to just drill out the handle a bit so that the button slides further down.

I had the same problem. Button would not fit in the hole. FF sent me a new handle and button. Drilling out a 1/32" or so of material in 1/2" plus existing hole by hand would be pretty tough.

Hmm, I may have to call them back. I used a stepped drill bit and the button sides in now, but it is certainly not as clean as I would like.

There are two spacers provided in the kit - one is 1"; the other 1/2". The manual says use the 1". Did you try using the shorter spacer instead?

I would have thought the button was meant to thread on, and then be inserted up through the opening in the handle, from the inside? That would allow the button to be pushed in further to help the ratchet release. Can that threaded release rod/bolt be removed via the bottom of the handle?

I've never seen the FFR e-brake first hand, so I may be way off. In the good old days, we just used a donor e-brake...

I measured the handle opening and the button. Handle opening is 12.44mm and the button width is 13.21mm. Definitely will not enter. Called FFR and new button and handle is on its way.
