Is there a template for hood/trunk/side badge positions

How do you position them? Are there any set measurements to center them on?

    Thanks

It is funny you posted this because last night I drilled into the body and installed my side badges. I used blue painters tape over the vent opening. it is 1 inch so that is the hight I placed them over the vent opening. The vent opening is 7.5 inches wide to i split the measure measurement to so i got the center. I used some card stock to make a template so I know where to drill. I also used a 6-32 die to place threads on the post of the badge. That way I could take the badges off if i needed. I used some lock tight on the nuts so they would not back out.
The badges are now centered over the vent 1 inch off the top.

The whole process too me 1/2 hour. good luck. Did not do the hood or trunk.

    Cheers Kevin

Here is the best info. with measurements I was able to find.

Keep in mind that these dimensions are bases on ERA Replicas.

I got this from another thread on the other forum. These are for the hood and trunk badge.

Front: 11.5" measured from the nose.
rear : 18.5" measured from the rear edge of the trunk.

For the side 427 emblems I also used painters tape over the side grill to get a line, centered them over the grill. Trimmed & ground the backs flat & used silicone sealer to hold them on. Hood & trunk are "looks good to me" locations also siliconed on.

Mine are stuck to my toolbox. I didn't measure or use a template.

Thanks everyone. Used the 1" blue tape on the sides and some measurements for the hood/trunk.

    Jeff

Better pay attention, Jeff. More are headed your way soon. Expect to see them on the car and not your toolbox
