I did a search, but didn't find much. I might not be using the right words.
For people that sold off their donor parts, how much did you recoup? I am trying to get a rough idea of the final donor cost.
Thank you.

Seen it vary widely. I got $2k back. My donor cost me $4300 delivered to my door, including shipping, fees, etc. So, net for me was $2300 in donor costs.
I've seen some people claim well over $4k. Part of it depends on how good the body is in, how many miles are on the parts, how much rust the car has, if there are any GOOD aftermarket parts on it that you don't want to use, etc.
From what I have seen, $2k is a pretty good / high average. I'd bank on $1k to $2k.
Recouped about $1600 on a total rustbucket that originally cost $3200.
Had to do a lot of legwork to get those sales done. Still had some large things that could have been sold (doors, etc.) but became more effort than was worth my time.
So, I agree with hindsight, between 1k and 2k is doable with some effort.

I recovered about $1100-$1200, might get a bit more. It was not in great shape, but parts sold pretty quickly. I bought the car for $3500. 2004 WRX.

I'm up to $267 if you count the gasoline and spare change. I do have some more parts to sell, but nobody seems interested. Working on finding a box for a fender, though. Note: Saab 92x.
Thanks guys.
$4300 and $3200 for donors seems amazing.

$6352 - I've got a spreadsheet going. My 02 wrx daily driver was my donor and it did have lots of aftermarket parts. I got lucky and found a few buyers that bought multiple items. Got $500 for the body, which was in good shape.
With shipping from California to Oklahoma City (bought through CoPart), the 2007 WRX (133K miles, ran OK, sideswipe down complete driver's side) was ~ $3,400.00 with broker fees. Has a small amount of desirable aftermarket stuff. Have sold $1,400 on eBay and local sales through Craig's List. Have big items, like two good doors, which I will list later. Took the carcass to a metal recycler, and watched them throw it 50 yards through the air to another pile!

$1850 for the co-part 2005 wrx roll over, 70K miles, sold off $2283 of parts. And this was a car with only the left passenger door intact. Ebay, Craigslist. Search for comparables, sell parts for a wee bit less.

I hope to add some good numbers to this discussion soon. I paid $800 (CDN!) for my 2007 Impreza donor, including a full set of winter tires & rims. I hope to get back >$1000.
I will need to buy a manual gearbox, since my donor has an automatic.
$4800 for a unmolested but high miles 2003 daily driver. Got back $3200.
