Is this a Factory Five kit?

    Hi Guys

Trying to figure out what this is before i go and look at it. Is it a Factory Five Kit?

There are a few small details that i hope will help identify it.

Central Gas cap in rear body work
    Lack of Roll hoops
    Shape of Dash panel
Molded Drip rail around hood opening and the way the hood is supported in the corners.

Oh and yes and it has a Chevy engines (heaven knows why?)

Let me know what you think.

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers

Definitely not a FFR product - though not sure who manufactured it. Possible an Everett-Morrison or a Contemporary??? Others with greater knowledge of the replica market will probably have an answer for you in short order, but for sure not FFR.

The engine bay looks very similar to my North American Fiberglass Cobra Replica. My kit was manufactured in 1984.

    Thanks Guys

Pretty sure it wasn't an FFR but had no idea what it is.
I think its a pretty early one
The Glaspac looked promising but its rear arches are more bulbus than the car i pictured above.

Someone on another forum suggested it was an Arntz / Butler replica.
    Will research it some more

    Anyway

    Thanks

Well my first impression was that it was an Arntz, (or Butler). I'm not sure if a Chevy engine was commonly used in them though, so that is either a builder choice, or perhaps was an option with the Arntz kits. Not sure if that one has the round tail-lights or not, but I thought the Arntz always came with rectangular ones. The gas cap placement is right for them though, as is the width of the tranny tunnel..
It's actually not a bad looking body. I think the 1/4 panels look more original then the earlier FFR models did. Sitting in it if it is an Arntz, might be challenging of your a taller guy. I couldn't drive my friends Butler as it was just to cramped.

From the bit of research i was able to do last night, it seems that most of the Arntz cars were in fact Chevy powered.
So that is another pointer that it could be an Arntz.

Also the wide transmission tunnel is due to the fact that the engine is set way further back than most other replica's, its supposedly set back 10 inches from an original AC.

I've also read that the Arntz cars were very stout and heavier than modern Cobras, The body has a steel frame inside it including steel bars inside the doors.
I read that Steve Arntz girlfriends was killed when she had an accident in one of his cars so he beefed them up considerably.

The research part is fun. I im really looking forward to seeing the car, if i can get hold of the owner....

    Cheers
    Ben

So by going to look at, I assume that means to possibly purchase. The seller doesn't know what it is?

No tags, no title? Good luck getting it licensed. Could be a nightmare.
