    Engine install question?

I hope to install my LS1 this week. Looking at the engine bay and all, I have a couple questions. Is it best to install the plastic intake after the engine is in the chassis? Also should I wait to install the A/C compressor till the engine is in place? Thanks for any advice here. TW

I was able to install the engine with both parts bolted up; There's more room than it seems.

It's best to have a second set of eyes, but if you're alone just use some padding around the interference
points and move the hoist inch by inch.

Remember to use jack stands, or some sort of support on the rear of the motor until you are able to bolt
    up the transaxle.

Yes, you can have the intake installed and will definitely want to have the AC compressor installed since it is a real pain to try to install the compressor with the engine installed. If you don't have the flywheel or clutch installed, I would recommend waiting to install those until the engine is in. As Procision said, you will have to support the rear of the engine once installed....we normally just use a ratchet strap from the chassis, down under the rear of the oil pan and back up to the chassis.
