This is the type that allows for clip-in shoulder straps and can be adjusted for height to make sure the straps cross your shoulders at the proper angle.

This is an awesome part that gives a period-correct look and also allows you to get the harnesses up where there should be - most harness makers recommend that the shoulder straps be mounted no more than 10* below the level of your shoulders. If you're doing track-days with your FFR, this will make it much easier to pass tech, too.
