    818S windshield header construction/top mounting

I'm working on a bikini top for my 818S and would like to attach a rain rail/mounting surface under the top edge of the windshield frame. FFR mounts brackets under this area for their convertible top.

What is the construction of the windshield frame and what are used for mounting screws for the optional top attachments?

I'm thinking that this area is a solid section of composite material w/o steel embedded in it and very course threaded screws and adhesive would work to attach my 1/8 aluminum plate under this area. It will extend 1 inch beyond the windsheild frame and be used to hold some snaps for the forward attachment of the "emergency use" bikini top

Dan it is fiberglass with aluminum inside. I use rivets to attach the soft top brackets. IMO there is not enough metal for a screw. Just my 2 cents worth.

so there is a skin with aluminum sheet and a void? You used 1/8 or 3/16 rivets? Is this what is spec by FFR? How long? Powder coating it gloss black next week
