P0463 CEL - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Input Issue?

    Hi All,

Recently got this check engine light - new one for me... aside from pulling the sending unit to investigate - anyone had to deal with this CEL before? The issue seems to be intermittent, sometimes the fuel gauge on the cluster seems to read correctly, other times it seems incorrect. I am thinking potentially a grounding issue, but haven't looked too far into it yet...

    Thanks!

Did you ever do anything to fix it? The check engine light is quite annoying for me - so, it may be a fine time for me to swap the Boyd aluminum tank in, along with a new sending unit and a Walbro 255 fuel pump... ;-)

+1 for Boyd Tank but there are a few other ways to fix this. The code can be easily disabled with a tactrix cable and rom raider or you can try simulating the signal that the ECU wants to see from that sensor, which would require more research. I also agree that it shouldn't affect normal operation of the ECU.

Did not even consider the possibility to turn off the CEL via Rom Raider - I have the Tactrix cable, so that may be the way to go for my situation. Good outside the box thinking!
