    Tracknight July 13 Pocono Raceway

I'll be entering the tracknight event at pocono raceway July 13th as well as the autocross event they have that morning. Wondering if anyone else plans on going to those events? Also I would like to take some pictures of my car with a scenic background. Being from Texas we don't get much mountains or forest so I want to take the opportunity while I have it. I am sure there is something in that area but not sure where to go. Anyone in that area have any suggestions?

I am currently stationed at Fort Dix so it's about a 2 hour drive or so. Another Army buddy is coming from Illinois as well with his skyline. We will more than likely be stay in a hotel on the 12th and leaving the 14th (don't have a hotel picked out either). I don't think he is bringing his family so it's going to be a guys trip (that could change). We are looking to just have a good time racing then go out and take some good pictures of our cars with a cool background. I have a drone that we want to use to fly around and get some cool video of us driving. We don't have a lot of information planned out yet because I'm in the field training and internet reception is not that great. Just trying to put some feelers out for now.

Jack if you stay down in wilkes barre area your going to find more things to do. the Mohegan sun casino in wilkes barre has a big tribute band part on Thursday nights that are fun and draw huge crowds, there a Beatles tribute the 13th. i dont know where to tell you to go to do nice photo shoots i have a Subaru friend that does that kinda of thing and ask him. there a cool old abandoned town called centrelia pa i have been there a few times but i heard they have been cracking down on trespassing its not to far but could be done from fort dix also here is a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BG993iLPCOg.
If by chance you end up here for the weekend of the 8th-9th we have the oldest running Motorsports event in the country going on, Giants despair hillclimb its a time trial event up a very steep winding 1 mile road. the town of jim thorpe up near the track is an old historical town which might be a cool place to do a photo shoot. what kind of car will you be driving at the trackday?

You will be smack dab right in the middle of some beautiful country. Just south of the raceway is hickory run state park. I motorcycle thru there quite often. Many photo ops. Just south from there is state game lands 141. Yet another photo op. Lookup mountain Top, Mt. Pocono or even Pocono summit. Go into the town of jim Thorpe and ask a local how to get up to flag staff mountain park overlook. That's a sure winner for some great views.

thanks both of y'all for the advice. I'll be driving my cobra I just finished with a coyote engine. It has about 1k miles on it so the race will be more for fun and to test it out. The other days I'll just be cruising and enjoying the ride.
