I have a factory build engine with a GM type power steering pump. To alleviate the high pressure these pumps produce I decided to install a Heidts valve.
I have only driven 40 miles as I am getting ready for paint.
I have had a complete front/rear align and 4 corner balancing.
The steering is still very light and I thought I would look into a Flow control Valve replacement, because I have the Heidts turned out as far as I feel safe (4 turns) from the end.
I removed the Flow control vlve that was in the PS unit and it seems to be the same as the two replacements that I have acquired.
there are two holes on the valves and I wonder if anyone KNOWS which one is the actual flow control.
The two valves on the left are ones I have acquired.
The one on the right is what was in the PS pump.
hole "A" seems to be the size of a 1/16 drill shank, hole "B" seems to be 7/64 in all three.
I am wondering if anyone has dealt with this knows actually knows which hole changes size as the flow is increased or decreased.
