    Fuel Tank Install Questions

I don't like the way the front mounting on my fuel tank looks. The back is positioned well, but I can't get the front side to set flat against the tubing. Any recommendations on getting this thing in correctly?

Agreed the fit could be better. Tightening it down tends to force the edge of the tube hard against the tank. I cut a piece of thick heater hose then cut it vertically, opened it up and slipped it between the tank and the tube. Works well. I think the edge of the tank should be bent down like the rest of the tank too. I see yours is bent up so the plastic stops aren't resting on the tank lip.

Oops. You missed the part in the instructions about flattening that flange around the tank. Then the flat fits against the plastic bumper and the strap will also fit better.

Yep, you have to flatten the flange. It's there in the rulebook (AKA manual ) somewhere.

And a spacer in between the support and the strap will help keep the bolt square.

Hmmm...looks like I coulda used a shorter bolt there.
