    Alternative to Hallibrand style

I am changing from 15" to 17", and whilst I like the Hallibrands its just too costly to get another set shipped from FFR!

I'm wondering if anyone has fitted a different style wheel? I see some Bullitt rims that look ok, and the match backspace/offset specs.

    Thanks

I use a set of 17" FR500 for my track combo and they fit fine. You may not like them but I think they don't look too bad on the car. You can get them in several colors https://lmr.com/products/FR500-Mustang-Wheels

The wheels on a daily driver, sons car and my MK-4 all came from OE Wheels LLC.

Just search for Mustangs from 1999-2004 and the back spacing should be A-Okay.

We've been happy with the quality and the price I spent on the MK-4's rims was insane since it was a discontinued model at $85.00 front & $89.00 rear plus shipping.

If you like what is on my car, then Late Model Restoration (LMR) makes the same style wheel, but at a higher price.

I think the FR500 replicas look pretty good on the car. They are one of the lighter cast wheels too.

I did some searching for alternative wheels before ordering my kit. The FF sale allowed me to go on and purchase the Hailibrands so I never followed up with my research. However, happy to pass along the initial findings, in addition to those noted above, I think Gordon Levy has wheels available with the correct sizing and backspace. You might check out his website on the FF vendors list.

Don't know if this helps you or not but here's a pic of 17" fr500 replicas on my mustang. Because the off set is not factory I have to run a 1/4" spacer on the rear for clearance of the irs.

I bought some Cobra R style wheels from American Muscle. They were my second choice. I couldn't find the bullit wheels I wanted in chrome. So I got these instead.

After 12 years of sporting Halibrand wheels, I went modern on mine my initial impressions is, this is going to look good despite a modern spin.
It's a replica but it's also an FFR and that means you are free to do whatever tickles your fancy. In my case, Forgestar CF5 in bronze, but these only start at 18".

I wish I had seen the Forgestars before I bought mine. Would be nice to custom size and backspace the wheels. My 10.5" wide 18's are a little narrow for 315's...I could fit up to a 12" back there with my flares. Their prices not bad considering.

Haven't had the body over em yet. Using American Racing Torq-Thrust in Anthracite Grey. Almost identical sizing to FFR's 17's. Bit of a modern twist to an old skool design, which is how my whole car is going. You can get these wheels in almost any width / BS you want.
