I suspect that my 289 body may not get trimmed the same way as the MkIV (actually, I'm fairly certain of this based on the lower valence issue I and others have had).

Today's question relates to the door openings. I have a flange on my door openings that does not appear in the instruction manual. If I look at the manual, it appears that the door aluminum butts up against the body, and the fiberglass edge is finished off with a piece of the C trim.

Here is what I have:



The body comes up, then takes a 90 degree turn into the cockpit. This causes interference with the door hinges, door aluminum, etc.

I believe that I need to cut back the area that is hatched in the picture. If so, how far up do I take it on the front:



And how far up on the back?



If anyone can share some similar photos of their door openings, it would be helpful.
