    very stiff rear springs

    does anyone know what spring rate the rear coilovers [koni] come with? after driving a bit i'm thinking of going to a softer spring rate.

    MK-4 Roadster
    On the three link set up that came with the RED Koni's, the rate is 350 lbs.
    Up front, the spring rate is 500 lbs.

    Mark, does Breeze sell the 250lb springs that would fit my 3.1 roadster w/3 link suspension that came with red Koni shocks? Also, can I keep the 500lb front springs, or will they change the handling, with 250lbs in back? I'm thinking perhaps they might act like a front anti-roll bar. Jim

    A softer rear spring without a change to the front will exacerbate the 500F/350R combination's tendency to understeer (indeed, much like adding a front bar without a corresponding increase in rear stiffness).

    The ones that came with my kit #8900 are marked 33976 400#. They are the red bodied shock also. I have the IRS if that makes a difference.

    Mine are 500lb front and 350lb rear for 3link solid axle. Has anybody moved the 350lb springs to the front and put 250lb springs in the rear? I'm thinking that the 350lb springs might have to be tightened up too much to support the weight of the engine.

    FWIW (and it isn't much), but the 33HR now comes with 400 front 250 rear. Not sure how the weights compare between roadster and 33.. presumably quite similar though..

    I went down 50 pounds both front and rear and it helped a lot for street use. Summit Racing has Eibachs. I reset ride height after install and added about a 1/4 inch so 5 inches now.

    450lb front is a good match for 250 rear. If you have a lighter combo like 302 w alu. heads and a T-5 then 400 front is also nice.

    Keep in mind on the 33 that the front control arms have a 1.6ish ratio against the inboard coils so the effective rate is much less at the wheel.
    The 33 also used to come with 350 rear but after many complaints about harsh ride they changed the coil over package on the 3 and 4 link coupe.
