Now that looks like a ton of fun! I may have to make a road trip next year (or whenever I get my car done).

It's been a few years since I've been. But it was a lot of fun. It's grown so big that you'll spend a lot of time sitting in traffic. Make sure you're cooling system is up to par for hot moist air on traffic.

Yes, in 2005 Hurricane Katrina wiped out the entire Gulf Coast on that fateful day on August 29th.

You can get a feel for our spirit down here on the Redneck Riviera by checking out the last five to ten minutes of Boyd Cottington Woodie Video:

    https://youtu.be/i2i6Gw0UPdQ

NOTE: Boyd may be gone, but his Woodie still resides in a Golden Nugget Casino in Biloxi.

    May He Rest In Peace!

If this is your first trip down for Cruising The Coast, I can tell you that I doubt it will be your last.
Just sorry my car isn't going to be there this year.

Not having your car is not good. I was hoping to stir up some interest in having a Cobra meet some time during the week. A friend who is coming down with his El Camino and they are getting together with a bunch of El Camino fans one day while we are there. We will definitely be doing some cruising.

Factory Five can't make this event because they are thrashing to make the SEMA show that is shortly after this event.

The fellows that I spoke about are my home town Factory Five Club Members, which total a whopping thee people, myself included.

They will be cruising in their Factory Five's while my wife and I will be cruising in my daily driver.

Last Bump Before The Pilgrimage Begins!!!

Please make this a bucket list item "Gotta-Do" event at least once in your lifetime.

    You won't regret it.

    Hey Gang,

If you are heading down to this event you will likely get wet.
Tropical Storm Nate is expected to be a Hurricane by the time it impacts the Gulf Coast.
With that said; Cruising The Coast, which ends on Sunday, will likely be cut short for obvious reasons.

PS: I've already started picking up and moving things around and have already moved the Chevy Cobra, which will soon become the Dart Cobra, out of the swamp to higher ground.

    Okay Gang,

Nate has shortened Cruising The Coast by one day.
If you want to get a glimpse of the fun, then tune in to the Weather Channel.
They have a boot on the ground (Weather Man) reporting from Biloxi Mississippi.

Made it, done it, had a great time. Saw a few Cobras and manage the talk to a fine gentlemen from Texas. Left Saturday morning leaving Nate behind.

made it down on Wednesday and stayed till 5am Saturday. Put 1500 miles on the car and evidently lost a valve seal, used a little oil, and smoked like a freight train at idle.
