    Front splash shield mounting flange

Attacked another project on the list today.
I looked before to mount the splash shields but because of my upper rail mods the upper and lower didn't meet up very well. In an earlier attempt I made metal strips to support the shields but didn't like the way it looked. As with many other decisions I've made on the car, it was good to let it simmer for a while in the back of my brain.
I ended up making cardboard templates and used them to cut 1/2" plywood. I then glassed those into place. Now I can screw or bolt the upper shields to them.
May have to do another layer of cloth to make it stronger but it came out pretty good so far.
Another thing to cross of the "must be done before going to paint" list.

This unintentionally also stiffened up the hood quite a bit.
