    Weatherstripping for Interior Dress Up?

I need some help finding what I am looking for: I had to cut a 2005-2007 WRX center console and I am looking for a way to dress up my cut lines. I dropped by Ace Hardware to see what I could find, and didn't have much luck. The closest thing I found to what I am looking for is weatherstripping for a garage door... :-/

I'm searching for something that I can use to seal the gap between the center console and the dash.

    Thanks!

You could make a fiberglass piece that can be made to fit. You can then use it for switches or more gauges or....

I think I found what I was looking for - McMaster-Carr for the win! I think the plan is to utilize "bulb seals" or "trim molding."

I LOVE the way that console looks in there. My plan, too, and I wasn't sure.

can you just clean up your cuts a little and raise the front of the console slightly until it touches the dash?
A well stocked beverage fridge is the key to any successful project.

The console looks really really great.

Did you have to cut out any portions of the steel structure that goes from front to rear, that is, the portion you usually mount the shifter to.

Along with the console and dash/radio bezel, did you purchase any supporting metal framework? Or did you just purchase the console pieces and fabricate your own mounting points.

Do you have any pictures of the process along the way?

    Thanks
    Glenn

I like the Subie console. More civilized feel.

    What door panels are those?

I have a bunch of in-progress pics. http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showt...e-Build-Thread! my re-build thread for starters... I have a lot more too that I didn't post yet. I made my own support brackets, didn't need to cut out any of the frame - just removed the old bent sheet metal and worked the 05-07 WRX/STI console in.

Thanks, and the door panels are just the FFR padded.

    What I started with.

    Some sheet metal removed.

After everything is removed, you can just plop the WRX/STI center console down, then fabricate some brackets to help hold it in place. Not a lot of fab is needed, as it is pretty secure just press fit. Be prepared to change the location of the e-brake as the 02-04 WRX/STI sits different from 05-07.
