    818 v8!

Has there been any talk about an 818 V8? Inline not transverse.

Do you mean an 818 v8 direct from FFR, or a V8 swap into the existing 818? I believe there was another thread recently asking about v8 swaps, try searching the 818 forums and you'll probably find it.

Edit: I'm on mobile and search doesn't work that great, I'll try to find the thread for you when I get on a real computer.

If you want a mid engine kit car from FFR with a V8, I'd highly suggest getting the GTM.

Thought we buried this horse. All kidding aside, like hindsight said a gtm would be the better platform for a v8. 3-4 hundred and up hp avaliable with the wrx and h6 engines seems to be more than enough to keep most everyone happy. The 400+hp that a v8 is capable of just seems more suited to the gtm with its bigger tires, brakes, transmission, ect.
But like climbing Mt Everest is not for everyone, hacking up the 818 frame and stuffing a v8 in there would be just plain cool.

I had though about this and I think it could be done of course with a lot of rework, the problem is I have sunk a lot of money into the setup I have and to take it all out and rebuild it with a V8 would put the cost of the car way over the top, this would work if I sold my car and planned on it from the beginning on a new build or someone building one right now.

Don't use the forum search, google it.

    In Google, type the following:
    V8 818 site:thefactoryfiveforum.com

You'll obviously get some false positives but you'll find all the threads mentioning V8s int he 818 too.
