    Door Latch ?

I have read back some 4-5 years ago, the door latch mechanisms were getting modified due to problems with reliability, etc ... is this still true for the latest versions? Is the recommendation to fix, not fix, or just totally replace with a more reliable setup? thanks

The new parts aren't any better than the old ones. But when modified are fine and it's not hard. Check these two links:

I read several posts on this issue and was prepared for the day it/they broke, but I installed them just as they came. I have had no issues with them for seven years..

I do try to teach passengers to use the lever, close the door, then release it to latch it rather than slamming it. I do my side that way now out of habit. I always wondered if the slamming them closed may have been part of the problem. So far so good..
