there have been a couple discussions and approaches on this. many pics posted in the builds. Since I am going Plymouth fenders my approach is different. I believe I will also "trim" my boards closer to the body. I reinforced the fender from the engine mount area and made a bracket to the vertical tube. My running boards will be 3-4 inches closer to the body in the door area. This reduces leverage on the supports and allows me to get out of the car without putting my weight on the running board. My fenders are supported different at the front than the Ford style so I was able to approach that differently also.

Not sure what FFR was thinking with the fender option. clearly didn't finish the thought whatever it was.

I am going to build fender supports in the near future. I will post whatever i come up with in toms 33 build thread. And i think that braces are mandatory for the long run.

    Supports

Here is a shot from last month.

The brace on the right lines up with the FFR radiator grille bracket, and the one on the left lines up with the motor mount. Note this is a Plymouth fender. This picture doesn't show the completed fender with inner skirts and the brackets. Apparently I need to take more pictures.
