    MKI steering rag joint question

    Hi All,

    New to the forum. Been working on the MKI I inherited back in April for a bit now. Ran across an upgrade my Uncle must have done to what appears to be a Flaming River manual steering rack and two universal joints (also Flaming River?) but no shaft to connect the two.

    Here are pics of the two pieces.

    I looked through all the part I have (twice) and can't find the shaft to connect these two. Any ideas on where I can get this piece?

    Its called Double D shaft. FFR carries it. Might also be able to get it from Summit,

    Here ya go;
    https://www.summitracing.com/search?...ord=DD%20shaft
    Measure the OD at the rounded part not across the flats. good chance it is 3/4 inch. ON my MkII the upper shaft is 1.0 and that lower is 3/4.

    And welcome to the forum! What a neat project to be passed down to the next generation. You've found the best source of help and support on the web.

    Had to look up Ridgefield, despite being a Washington native. Looks like you're not far from the Portland area, which has a strong FF Cobra presence.
