    Winters Quick Change

    Hey Guys,

First post here, I am just putting together my list for thing I want when I order my 33!

Has anyone used a Quick Change with a 3 link setup? Just wondering how they fit? Many modifications?

I want to go with a bit of a racing theme a throw back when I used to race, love the whine.

    Thanks

You're going to spend some bucks, but a quick change (several manufacturers, not just Winters) can be configured almost any way to want. It would be up to you to add the mounting brackets for the LCAs, Panhard and 3rd link.

The pics show a much pricier IRS, not a 3-link. With a 3-link and solid axle housing, you need additional clearance above the quick change gears, for suspension travel.

The quick change rear end alone is about $3-4,000.

A quick change IRS with CV joints would usually start at over $10K.

Thanks for the answers, I know they are costly but was wondering about clearance with the truck and fuel tank. Clearly it is going to take some modifications.

Apologies, I removed the posts, should I delete threads where I mentioned his support?

    Suggestions:

Put a ZF 6-Speed out of a C-4 Corvette and go with a deep ring and pinion or go with a T-56, with a deep ring and pinion.
    Deep Ring & Pinion = 3.73 - 4.56

Put a shallow ring and pinion and go with a road race version of the TKO-600 that has the .82 overdrive.
    Shallow Ring & Pinion = 2.56 - 3.55

Bill Boudreaux (The ZF Doctor) is the foremost authority for the ZF s6-40 gear box and can adapt them to BBC, SBC, and the LS platforms.

    Jason

I ordered a quick change through Dan Ruth. It comes all set up for the 33 HR. It's scheduled to be delivered next month. Looks like we both want that "Old Hot Rod" look.
