    289 FIA Rear tire sizes

Guys, i have a standard fox width 3-link rear axle and FFR 15" Halibrand wheels. Will a 295/50/15 tire fit the 289 body? I see that 275/50/15 is recommended but no tires other than drag radials are available in that size. Thanks!

I couldn't find the bigger sizes in street tires either for my 289. In looking at the Cobra book, I noticed a good shot of Bruce Meyer's black early cobra with 245-60 15's on the rear. That's what I went with, and it seems to work well with a 3:08 gear ratio/ 4 sp BW T10. They do not fill up the wheel opening like the big meats do. 235-60-15's are on front. If I change the rear ratio, I may consider larger rear tires if I can find something.

Dan from factory five emailed me today and said 275 is as wide as we can go with the 289 body.

I do not have tubes and have been checking to see how they hold tire pressure over the past two months. So far, they have not lost even 1 psi! Erik T from this forum has had the same experience. Yes, it does say right on the tire that they are "tubed" tires. However they see to work fine without. Joel
