    Hood bracket rivet length

I know the hood hinge bracket needs 3/16" rivets but what length of rivets are people using. I already used the rivets that were packaged with the hinge kit for something else, but unfortunately didn't write down the length. The thickness of the hood and bracket will dictate this and looks to be pretty thick, needing a relatively long rivet. I don't want to go too long though and not get a super tight pinch.

    Thoughts?

Pretty sure they are the .126 to .25 length. The aluminum barrel length is about 7/16

An easy way to check the actual thickness would be to use a piece of wire with a small 90 degree bend on the end as a feeler gauge. Insert the wire into the hole and then hook the bent end on the inside and mark the spot on the wire on the outside of the hole. Now remove the wire and measure the distance from the bend to your mark.

Thanks guys, I bought two different lengths in a steel rivet instead of aluminum for a little added strength. I should be good.
