    Horn Installation??

Maybe I'm blind? But I can't find a reference to the horn installation in the build manual for the MkIV?

Where have you guys mounted them on your cars? I am aware that it has to be pretty much in the vicinity of the wires on the front harness, but how have you found it best to mount? The hardware included doesn't seem particularly substantial...also there are two horns included in the complete kit, but there is only a single set of wires in the front loom.....how have you guys wired them in? I have seen pictures of Edward B's mounted horns in his build thread, but it doesn't show the mount nor the wiring..

Any helpful hints appreciated......p.s. I hate wiring, it is all voodoo black magic to me, and so I am finding this stage of the build particularly dull.

I mounted mine on the right hand side close to the lower radiator mount on the 3/4 inch tube and used the single power wire to run both horns

Like you said, I mounted mine by the lower radiator mount on the driver's side. I used a flat piece of steel for a bracket to mount them. Very simple. You will need to add a jumper wire for the second horn. Just connect the two horn positives to the single RF horn wire. Then ground both.

I mounted mine inside the nose bowl at the top corners. You can't see them at all, and the sound goes out the front.

If you are installing the foot box vents with the hoses to the front, place the ducting hoses in first, since they interfer with the standard horn location.

Thank you everyone. Very helpful and informative - feel a bit silly as the answers are very simple, just had something of a frustrating day working on the car. Thank you also to mark Reynolds at Breeze for sending through his mounting instructions. Cheers everyone for your help.

Hey; we've all been there. Just keep in mind that brain surgery is easy once you know how. You'll never learn anything if you don't ask questions.
