    Custom muffler source

It's been a while since I've been here so excuse me if this has been covered recently. I did a search and couldn't find what I needed. I need a quieter option for the supplied side pipes to pass track noise restrictions on my gen 2 coupe. I seem to remember the Karen Salvaggio had a set made for her coupes by a shop in CA. I also have a friend who has a Lotus replica looking to have something done as well. Does anyone have the contact info or another source?

    Thanks,
    Pat Madigan

Spitech will build custom mufflers; however, I'm not sure if they will build the type of muffler that you are looking for.
They do offer a host of Oval Shaped tubing and bends as well so I hope they can help.

Also, Stainlessworks offers some pretty neat stuff too.

Ask Garry Bopp. He had a set on his coupe.

I believe it was Mark Dougherty who made the exhaust for Karen Salvaggio.

Mark made a set for Chris.

Here's the parts list for that, but it's not the same as the exhaust you are asking about

The mufflers we used were Thrush Stainless Steel Glasspack Mufflers 24239 from summit 100 each. we used these so they would slide into the new 2 1/2 stainless pipes.
    So to recap
    stock FFR headers
    4) 2" - 2 1/2" reducers
    4) 2 1/2" stainless 30 deg. bends
    4) thrush stainless mufflers
    4) 2 1/2" stanless 90 deg bends

Raptor Racing polished stainless, re-packable, single muffler sidepipes

Those are the ones you want.

If anyone has run their car in the SCCA National Solo events can you share your setup and experience with the sound meter. I know many autocross regularly, but I haven't found any posts that mention which setups fell under/over the limit. Thanks in advance.

John, a Google search came up with a shop in Fresno, CA. A quick check of their web site looks like they just sell parts, no mention of fabrication services.

    Thanks

I had a set of the Raptor Racing single sidepipes on my Daytona Coupe, polished stainless, repackable. I picked up 42 rear wheel horsepower, no other changes on my 422" Windsor ... and the sound quality was much improved. Doug Marino was the guy that did my pipes at Raptor ... here's the phone number I have from him about 5 years ago: 559-706-2226. Good luck!

    I sure miss my coupe!
