    Suicide Door Wire Looms

Question for the community, for people who have run power windows or locks that required wiring to the doors, what did y'all use to protect the wires at the hinges? I have picked up some suicide door looms from speedway, but the geometry of the door hinge makes the braided steel drag really badly on the grommet. These are what I have, maybe they aren't really meant for suicide door applications, but searching around doesn't seem to show much else.

    Appreciate the help,

    Darth

Check with Painless for Jam-Tac contacts.

I use the 7 pin contacts from Carolina Customs. That will operate power windows, power safety pins, power door latches and a dome light.

My doors fit so tight that I had to recess the jamb side into the jamb. That was a real pain. On the good side they also act as door poppers.

I looked into the pin contacts looms from Carolina Customs, but after doing some research, many people had a really tough time getting them to work reliably. Plus, the spacing in the door jambs on a FFR 33 just don't lend themselves to contact-type looms. So I just bought a pair of eight-dollar rubber s-shaped accordion boots from Summit. Simple, cheap, they work perfectly - and you don't have to worry about making that iffy connection with the pin-contact type.

I too looked for these but never saw them at Summit. Thanks for the tip. These look just like the ones on my dodge ram truck. Placed the order today.
