    Veterans Day parade

Today my friend Art and I road in the local Veterans Day parade. Art served two tours in Vietnam as a UH-1 and cobra pilot and is now fighting a battle with cancer.

I was surprised at how quickly he accepted my offer to take him in the parade, he was really excited about being in the parade. Art told me that this was something that he never received when he returned from Vietnam.

So if you want to thank a veteran for their service and see a smile on their face give them a ride in the parade.

Be sure to bring lots of candy to pass out to the kids

That's COOL! I'm so jealous of those Cavalry uni's...

Did he wear the spurs that match the hat?

I will let him know that you sent him your best regards

    John

Art didn’t wear the spurs but he is already talking about going next year if my dad is unable to go. Dad is 89 and felt that the weather was too cold for him to be able to attend the parade.

He is still talking about how much he enjoyed the parade and how much he liked passing out candy to the kids

    Thanks

    Rick
