    Exhaust Discoloration

Anything to "cleanup" the discoloration on the polished SS side pipes? They've changed to golden hue !

Compound 302 gets rave reviews. I haven't tried it, so I can't say anything firsthand.

I use Wizard's Metal Renew. Creamy stuff goes on with a polish applicator, hazes up, wipes off with a soft rag. Imagine any stainless steel cleaner/polish would work.

    jwebb,

If I could get the photos that I have in photobucket to load on this site you could see the photos of how well Compound 302 works on stainless steel sidepipes. If you go to the other site (ffcars) and search for the thread "Product report on "Compound 302" you can see the photos I posted there.

I found that Wrights copper cleaner some 0000 steel wool and a little bit of water does a great job with very little effort

Bar Keepers Friend with a sponge, removes the stain and leaves a shine. Can be purchased at most hardware and home goods stores.

had stainless exhaust on one of my street rods, constantly changing color and always polishing so went with coated exhaust this time as it does not discolor.

Add me to the list for Compound 302. Works really well. Several others in our club have also used it with great results. Unlike other cleaners which are basically polishing the metal, Compound 302 actually has some kind of chemical reaction with the stainless to restore the color. I got it on Amazon. More info here: http://www.harrisproductsgroup.com/e...l-Cleaner.aspx.
