replacing brake master cylinder with wilwood with body on

Hello Roadsters, I am in the process of up-grading my brakes to remove the 97 Mustang foot box and replace with the wildwood master cylinders.

    Questions:
    1. Has anyone done this upgrade with the body on?
    2. Is it beneficial to do this MOD with the body off?
Note: My car is not painted yet. I would rather try the upgrade with the body on vs. remove the body.

    Thoughts, advice, experience?

    Thank you

Excellent opportunity to modify the body to incorporate the flip front for access to the footbox. Otherwise, I think you will need to remove the body for access to the upper portion of the footbox.

Would be way easier with the body off. Also gives you an opportunity to consider power brakes. Good luck

I'm curious why you think the wildwood pedal box is an upgrade? The stock 97 box works great and it also makes it very easy to do power brake upgrades. Also you wont have to worry about servicing anything in the foot box because all the drippy stuff is outside. If you do go ahead with the swap, I will buy the pedal box.

Be advised that you likely will have to move some wiring around which you may or may not be thinking about, assuming that the fuse block is in the stock location.

When I started my build I considered using that Mustang pedal assembly instead of the Wilwood set up.
I even went to the extent of moving the fuse block to the passenger side of the car.
The bottom line, I'd keep what you've got since it is more easily serviced.

    How about this instead?

Get #241. Mine is 8 yrs old and working just fine. I have been through 3 front and two rear MCs as my brake system has changed. Got mine from Forte.

That Solution Looks Like The Best Of Both Worlds!
