    Power Steering Fluid recommendation

I'm getting ready to fluids in my new build in preparation for the first start. I'm looking for recommendation/experience with the fluid for the power steering. I'm using the the rack and Hyda-boost from a 2000 Mustang GT.

I also use the Honda/Accura power steering fluid. Better consistency.

+4 on the genuine Honda branded stuff. I've used it on all my PS builds, based on recommendations on both forums. Seems to work great. Unfortunately, the closest Honda dealer for me is a little bit of a drive, plus it was $8+ a bottle. Check Amazon. This was the best deal for me. So, are you guys saying Honda fluid?

This could be a forum first. 5 responses with only ONE answer.

I guess I'll try it on my next fluid change.

Thanks for the responses. I also checked with a Mechanic friend of mine who has been wrenching for 40 years. He told Honda fluid has solved whining and sticking on numerous cars over the years. So I just got back from local honda dealer. Cost was $4.79 a bottle. Although they are only 12 oz bottles.

They are small bottles..Fortunately you don't need to change it for many many miles/years.

Years ago I had problems w/ reduced assist towards the end of an autocross run in hot weather. Having seen recommendations for the Honda fluid, I changed to it. That alone got me a 90% fix. A cooler was the final 10% but this is for very limited use. Since then I use Honda fluid in all our daily drivers too.
