    Gauge Question

First electrical power-up, two issues (so far).

First, fuel gauge pegs at full even though there is no fuel in the tank.

Second, gauge back-lighting; Headlight knob twisted full left, lights are off, knob twisted full right, lights are off, everywhere in between lights are full bright. The knob behind the panel they tell you to turn full bright (right) is turned full clockwise.

    Ideas or suggestions?

    1. Fuel gauge: Did you check the fuel gauge calibration? If you're using the provided sending unit, it should be on the 16-158 ohm setting. https://www.speedhut.com/instruction...structions.pdf

    2. I assume what you're describing is with the headlight knob pulled out to the first (running lights only) or second (all lights) position? If so, sounds normal. Twisting the headlight knob will only turn the backlighting on and off. The dimming will only happen with the smaller knob wired to the inverter.

Edward, I am sure glad you do not tire of answering novice questions, it seems like you are always on duty!

    1. Now that you mention it it do recall seeing something about calibration but I have never seen these instructions before. Thank you, I will do them next time the battery is hooked up.

    2. Your assumptions are correct. I think I understand this; the gauge back lighting does not dim with knob rotation as in most cars, they are either on or off at a set value. That value is set by the little in-line knob. Makes sense, thanks again!
