    Final Hood fitment

How many have you folks have had to reshape or trim the edges to get the hood to fit flush? just wondering, I'm using the breeze hood hinge and that seems to be fine, just makes the hood rub up by the windscreen

They are cut oversize intentionally so that you can trim to fit.

Note also that the opening it fits into does not have vertical sides. So you need to have your bulb seal or bumpers in position at least temporarily. Otherwise the fit gets tighter as the hood drops down into the opening.

Another thing to consider ... I had this problem on the Mk 4 ... is the shape at the windshield end of the hood.

The curvature of the hood did not match the curvature of the body at that point. In my case the DS sat a little proud of the body.

I ended up putting the hood out in the sun for hours with the two sides supported and a 10 pound barbell in the center to make it bow more.

I echo what Craig S says ... make sure you have the seal or bumpers temporarily in place ... i used the bumpers.
