Moser 8.8 rear end upper link axle mount

    Hello Fellas,

Was thinking about putting this together. Did some dry fitting and noticed some gaps. So I figured I would ask before I pull the 20lb hammer out

I have a Moser 8.8 rear end. The manual mentioned that they would have this welded on, but mine doesn't. Is the gap normal? Have you seen that before?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Glad you found the solution.

I went back and forth about laying out the extra money for the Moser axle to avoid the welding, finally chose not to. Would have been really unhappy if it came unwelded anyway.

I order mine directly from Mosier. I got the m88 muscle pack with a 33 spline truetrack. When I called I told them it was for a mk4 factory five and when it arrived it had the banana bracket welded to it. All I did was assemble the brakes, install the axle seals and axles then drop it in the car. I’m supprised that if it was a FFR Moser axle that it didn’t have the bracket. It’s only a $65 option. One thing to remember is the FFR bracket once bolted in place should also be welded to prevent it from rotating on the axle tube.

I've got Moser's TSD-500 rear and the Banana Bracket was welded in place.

I got this rear end from Mike Forte. The shipping paper mentioned Moser, not sure about the model number.

Cant use the VPM Banana Bracket Support Brace... Moser cuts off the 2 upper control arm mount ears that the bracket bolts to. You can however use the Frame Bracket Support.

Thanks you all for your feedback. I am still pending FFR and Mike Forte response on how to proceed. Obviously, the safety is important here.
